The NICU has always been a hotbed of innovation and jerry-rigging. No one is more creative than a NICU nurse!! Creche Innovations is dedicated to helping clinicians improve the quality of care for their patients and we’re here to help.

Unlike larger companies that are only interested in products that will make large amounts of money, we are interested in any idea or educational product that will improve care, maximize staff work flow or overcome a problem. We would be glad to help you solve problems by brainstorming possible solutions or help you turn your creative ideas into products.

Jan Shields, a former NICU nurse, created the Penguin Nutritional Warmer out of sheer frustration! Jan thought she was doing a great job warming feedings to body temperature until she started checking with a thermometer. She was horrified at the variation in temperature and distraught that she and her co-workers might be actually causing harm to the fragile infants in their care. She tried many ways to get the feedings to body temperature and when none of them worked, she invented one herself. Thanks Jan for helping bring consistent, safe milk warming to all babies!
